Job Description

Job Title:            Administrative Assistant/Appointment Secretary

Supervisor:        Section 8 Housing Director

Working Hours:Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (Normally)

Work Station:      Elizabeth City Satellite Office

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Answer incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate person as needed.
  2. Greet and assist walk in clients in a courteous, helpful manner.
  3. Responsible for the maintenance of data and associated reports for the tracking of housing inspections that are due.
  4. Schedule inspections (initial, annual, interim, and complaint) and mail appointment letters utilizing the Lindsey Software System.
  5. Maintain backup up handwritten copies of scheduled inspections in an appointment book
  6. Route and direct incoming mail, faxes, and hand delivered documents.
  7. Meter and maintain postage and copier records.
  8. Maintain and requisition office supplies from the Administrative Office.
  9. Rent Reasonable Data Maintenance
  10. Other duties as deemed necessary.

 Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

 Ability to interpret, apply, and follow program rules and regulations as applicable to job position.

  1. Knowledge of fundamental computer operation including data entry and word bridge letters.
  2. Ability to operate general office equipment.
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to review, coordinate, and maintain steady flow of inspections to specific geographical locations within the regulatory time frame.
  4. Ability to work well with others from diverse backgrounds in a professional and courteous manner.
  5. Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned duties with minimal supervision in a timely manner.

 Education and Experience:

Associate’s Degree in Office Technology, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of one year office experience.

Job Description

Job Title:            Retrofit Installer Technician

Supervisor:         Crew Leader

Working Hours:8:30 to 5:00 (Normally)

Work Station:     Field

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide all required Weatherization measures to each eligible home.
  2. Install insulation and air seal homes underneath and in the attic.
  3. Understand the application of Weatherization materials relative to the State priority list of measures
  4. Report any unusual job site conditions to the immediate supervisor.
  5. Attend all training as necessary and appropriate.
  6. Work together with other crew members using the team approach to Weatherization.
  7. Work together with crew members using the team approach.
  8. Complete any written documents as required.
  9. Communicate effectively with clients and other staff members.
  10. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  1. Have a basic understanding of construction tools.
  2. Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  3. Have a basic knowledge of weatherizing homes.
  4. Have the ability to work well with others.
  5. Have the ability to comprehend the use of the blower door.

Education and Experience:

High School Graduate with at least one year working in construction
